James’ experience enables him to see the big picture and offers the clarity and calm for your project environment.
James has a proven track record in project delivery spanning large software and business process change initiatives. A much wider understanding of how Project Management can bring about business results has been demonstrated throughout his career to date. He has worked across a wide range of companies including Synlait, Christchurch City Council, City Care, Fulton Hogan, Synapsys, Sungard, BNZ and IAG. Prior to returning to New Zealand he worked for Transport for London and was involved in the Millennium Dome whilst in the UK. His vast experience includes roles in Operational Management, running consulting teams, mentoring, setting up and running Project offices/Project Management methodologies to suit, project rescue and project/programme delivery.
James has held leadership roles within the project management community for a number of years. He is currently the National President of the Project Management Institute of New Zealand (PMINZ). He has also run PMI’s mentoring programme for 3 years, was Convenor of the 2014 PMI Conference in Christchurch and Chair of the South Island Branch.
James likes to attempt a balanced existence and when not ensconced in Project delivery or volunteer PMI work he can be found supporting his two children in their various sporting endeavours. He also enjoys damaging his knees on the ski slopes, is a ‘cricket tragic’ and still ‘plays’ to a reasonable standard.
He is well regarded in the Project Management community and is just as happy discussing your unique circumstances and providing perspective and balance as he is grabbing things by the scruff of the neck and delivering desired results.
